The cabana within the grounds is also a peaceful oasis with pond, water feature and 2 hammocks, an ideal place for relaxing, listening to the waterfall and wildlife in the gardens; monitor lizards, iguanas, porcupine, mongoose,chipmonks and leaf monkeys visit the garden by day; while fruit bats fill the skies at dusk.
Sit on the jetty on the lagoon itself and you will encounter abundant and extraordinary wildlife with parakeets, kingfishers, cormorants ,sea eagles and mynah birds that roost in the jungle bordering the lagoon. The local fishermen dot the landscape at dawn and at dusk to lay their nets and return for their catch. They may offer you fresh lagoon prawns at the jetty, but you can try you hand at fishing off the house paddle boat or off the jetty.
The owners will not be present during the stay, but can be contacted by email or on whatsapp at any time. There is an onsite housekeeping team who manage the property and provide housekeeping, cleaning and cooking services as well as grounds man, maintenance and security.
Our team are happy to cook breakfast, lunch and/or dinner for you, for a small extra charge for cooking services(we suggest a of minimum 5,000 LKR per meal for a party of 6 persons) plus the cost of ingredients All you need do is decide what you wish to eat, buy the ingredients and our team will cook for you.
There are 3 bedrooms in the Retreat each with a super kingsize bed, additionally there is one single inflatable airbed uitable for a child or small adult. The minimum stay is 3 nights in low and mid season, 6 nights high season and 1 week between 11th December and 6th January. There is a supplement of £20 for one additional person per night (for more than 6 guests)
There are no pets allowed. Smoking permitted outside of the Retreat only.
There is a team of 3 drivers with tuk tuks for local and air conditioned mini bus for airport transfers and longer distance trips.
The Retreat provides you with complete privacy and safety, all home comforts in peaceful tropical surroundings, while just a short tuk tuk ride away, you can enjoy all that lively Hikkaduwa beach has to offer such as excellent surf, diving and a variety of restaurants and nightlife (800 LKR single fare to Hikkaduwa)3
